Configuring Netscape for SHOUTcast

Instructions for configuring Netscape browsers to send SHOUTcast streams to Unsanityª Echo directly are as follows:

1. Open Netscape Navigator or Netscape Communicator
2. Go to Preferences in the Edit Menu.
3. Click on the Applications tab
4. Click the "New" button
5. Fill the dialog as follows:
a. Description: Shoutcast
b. MIME type: audio/x-scpls
c. Suffixes: pls,m3u
d. Handle by... application (pick Unsanityª Echo)
e. File type: PLST
f. Uncheck the 'Macintosh File' and 'Use this MIME type for outgoing attachments' checkboxes.

6. Click 'OK'

7. Click the "New" button
8. Fill the dialog as follows:
a. Description: m3u playlist
b. MIME type: audio/x-mpegurl
c. Suffixes: m3u,pls
d. Handle by... application (pick Unsanityª Echo)
e. File type: PLST
f. Uncheck the 'Macintosh File' and 'Use this MIME type for outgoing attachments' checkboxes

9. Click 'OK'
10. Done
